The Martin James Network has donated the company’s previously used laptops to community interest company WOWDOT, to help address digital poverty affecting school children across the Birmingham region.
WOWDOT was started by former Asian Business Chamber of Commerce president Qasim Majid, and aims to provide 1000 families in Birmingham with a computer in the next 12 months through its Connect_In campaign.
Previously used computers that are donated to the campaign are refurbished and safely recycled, before being donated to Birmingham schools to give to their pupils who are most in need of both a computer and internet connection.
Director of Marketing & Engagement, Amanda Mogan-Wilson said “This cause fits perfectly with our mission as part of the network is to challenge inequality in all forms. We are always looking for other causes where we can offer support, and we are delighted to have donated our previously used laptops to such an important campaign.”
The Martin James Network was built and exists to support the growth of companies and entrepreneurs who contribute to a better, more inclusive society where individuals are valued, and communities grow and thrive cohesively.
All the companies across the Network use human centred practices and innovative technology to have a positive impact on families and vulnerable individuals, collectively we aim to achieve our vision of a ‘Fearless Future’ for all – creating a safer, more inclusive tomorrow where dreams can be realised without fear, limitation or prejudice.
Fearless Futures – Inspiring others to be bold, kind and courageous.
